GYREFUNK, an often overlooked contributor to the bay area modern funk scene, teams up with Rojai, frontman for SF Bay Area’s BAYONICS, for the titled track "She Be Lookin". Filled with live instrumentation, the bassline and breakbeat are enough to start your heart racing. Adding Rojai’s infectious vocals, they’ve created what’s sure to be a future Bboy classic. The video (soon to follow) explores the all too familiar storyline of departing lovers looking for something more. It weaves through some gorgeous Bay Area scenery, includes cameos from the artists, as well as some well known innovators in the dance community. A multifaceted musician based in San Francisco, GYREFUNK is well versed in guitar, bass, piano, and drums. His combination of heavy futuristic funk with raw organic sounds give his production an unparalleled uniqueness which brought him to collaborate or perform with the likes of Stevie Wonder, The Black Eyed Peas, Doug E Fresh, Far East Movement, Kero One, and Freddie Joachim. In collaboration with Mitch Manchild of Lookwright Manufacturing, the one of a kind upright-bass/guitar/synth/drum-machine hybrid instrument, or, VINCESTRUMENT as it’s been referred to, was created. Specifically tailored to suit his needs, GYREFUNK uses Lookwright’s creation with a looping station to share with audiences a little bit of how his tracks are built in the studio. www.gyrefunk.com facebook.com/gyrefunk Twitter @gyrefunk With one of the Bay’s most recognizable voices, Rojai combines the lyrical wizardry of an MC with the soulful serenading of a modern day troubadour. He continues to be a mainstay on the local music scene as the lead singer of the 9 piece funk band Bayonics and The Pocket. Catch Rojai and The Pocket every Sunday at Farmer Brown restaurant in SF. A solo funk project is underway and will be out in early 2016. His “Solitude” EP is currently available as an Itunes download. www.Bayonics.com www.RojaiMusic.com www.ThePocket.com
